Strothman+Co is excited to announce the addition of Carrie Crouch to our Client Accounting and Advisory Services team, where she joins as a Manager.

Carrie Beth Crouch, CPA
CAAS Manager
Strothman+Co
With a rich background in both public and private accounting, Carrie Beth brings a wealth of experience to Strothman+Co, most recently spending time in finance and analysis roles at two manufacturing firms with major operations in Kentucky.
We recently sat down with Carrie Beth to get to know her better, exploring her background, skill set, and goals as one of the newest members of Strothman+Co’s team.
Q: First things first. Tell us a little bit about yourself!
A: I’m a mom of two teenagers, Cooper and Collin. One of our favorite things to do as a family is to kayak on Floyds Fork at The Parklands. I also love scrapbooking: a couple of times a year I’ll go to a scrapbooking retreat and document our family memories.
I’m also a golfer. I played college golf at Murray State University, but it’s a hobby that’s been on the back burner for the past few years. Now that my kids are older, I’m looking forward to picking my clubs up again!
Q: What brought you to Strothman+Co?
A: After I graduated from the College of Business at Murray State University, I went straight into public accounting. After that, I spent most of my career in industry, working as an Assistant Controller, a Finance Analyst, and ultimately a Business Finance Leader role for a large manufacturing firm here in Kentucky.
I’ve always looked for opportunities to use my skill set, and over the past couple of years, I’ve served on several local boards in Jeffersonville, IN, where I live with my family.
During that time, I saw just how big an impact my accounting and finance skills could have on small to midsize organizations that didn’t have the ability to have a full-time accounting team. When I heard about this opportunity at Strothman+Co, I was interested right away!
Q: What attracted you to Strothman+Co and this position in particular?
A: The CAAS role sounded like a great fit for my skill set and my passion, but Strothman+Co also just seemed like a fantastic organization to work for.
As a firm, they’re very active in our local community and encourage their employees to serve on local boards and give back with their time and talent. I was excited to have the opportunity to work for a company where that’s a key value.
Q: What is your vision for the CAAS team at Strothman+Co?
A: I have first-hand experience of the value that client accounting and advisory services can add for small to midsize businesses. We’re envisioning a seamless process for clients that pairs our outsourced accounting and bookkeeping services with our assurance and tax practices to deliver a holistic experience that helps our clients be successful.
It’s a service offering that we’re really excited about and aiming to expand over the coming months and years. Part of my role is to structure our team to help us evolve in line with the demands of our clients. That involves standardizing processes, embracing new technologies, and helping our service providers become more efficient.
Our goal is to serve our clients in a way that not only allows them to understand what went on historically, but what actions they should take to lay the foundations for future growth.
Q: What value can clients expect to unlock by working with you and the rest of the CAAS team?
A: Some companies might not understand how they can benefit from working with a CAAS team, but the reality is that it can be a game-changer for all kinds of organizations. There are many examples of this, but I’ll just name one: truly understanding your company’s financial statements.
When you run a business, you need to understand your financial statements on a deeper level. They tell you the direction the business is going in, shine a light on cost-saving opportunities, and more.
So many business owners are so focused on the day-to-day that they don’t have time to see the bigger picture. That’s one of the roles of a CAAS team: to help leaders make important decisions with the benefit of higher-quality information.
On top of that, clients can outsource tasks like monthly bookkeeping, the month-end closing process, processing payroll, and other accounting-related tasks that consume business owners’ time, creating space for clients to dream bigger. At Strothman+Co, we leverage best practices, proven systems and frameworks, and leading technologies to deliver accounting and advisory services that help our clients take their businesses to the next level.
